Terms & Conditions
Calendar |
The school calendar runs from September to August and is divided into three terms - Fall, Winter and Spring - plus a special summer session. Terms generally contain between nine (9) and twelve (12) lessons per location per term. You may view the current calendar here for scheduled class dates.
Registration |
A non-refundable annual registration fee of $35 per student plus $15 per additional student in the same household is required at time of registration. Registration must be completed and payment made before a student can begin classes.
Tuition |
Tuition is payable for the entire term: payment plans are available upon request. A credit/debit card is required to complete registration. Unpaid balances will be charged to the credit/debit card on file on the 30th of the month for the following month. If payment is declined or if payment method is invalid, a late fee of $25 plus a $35 NSF fee, if applicable, will be assessed.
NSF Payments |
Payments rejected, reversed or refused by your financial institution will be subject to a $35 NSF charge, plus a $25 late fee if payment occurs after the 30th of the month.
Discounts |
Families pay full price for the first two (2) students with the highest tuitions; each additional student in the same household receives a 50% discount. Students taking multiple lessons pay full price for the first two (2) lessons; each additional lesson is at a 50% discount. Discounts do not include competition participation, entry or costuming fees.
Drop-In Classes |
If a student wishes to drop-in for a class on a day other than their usual class, or at a different location, they must obtain permission from the attending instructor. The standard fee for a drop-in lesson is $20 for a 60-minute class and $30 for a 90-minute class. Drop-in classes are payable at the time of attendance; students will be allowed one exception to this policy. Students with unpaid drop-in classes will not be permitted to attend classes - even if regular tuition has been paid - until their drop-in account is brought current.
Refunds & Prorata |
Tuition is payable for the full term. No refunds shall be issued nor arrangements to prorated tuition made, including the event of withdrawal from classes. Exception shall be made in the event of a medical emergency accompanied by a physicians note. An Daire Academy reserves the right to terminate lessons to any student without notice: in such a case, no refund for the balance of unused tuition will be issued.
Inclement Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes |
In the event of inclement weather, An Daire Academy will follow public school closures. If classes must be canceled due to inclement weather or events beyond reasonable control (such as power outages), make-up classes will be offered at the end of the term. In the event that a make-up class cannot be scheduled, a tuition credit will be issued. No refunds will be issued for these reasons.
Illness & Make-Up Classes |
Students should not attend class when ill: please follow attendance guidelines from your school. If a student misses a class due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances, they may attend a make-up class, with instructor permission, on another class night within two (2) weeks of the missed class. No refunds shall be issued nor arrangements to prorate tuition made.
Dress Code |
Dance students are to wear black t-shirts or approved apparel, black shorts (or skorts) that do not cover the knees, and white socks. Appropriate footwear must be worn for all dance classes. Competing dancers must have gillies (girls), black jazz shoes or reel shoes (boys): dancers in Advanced Beginner and above must have hard shoes. Failure to adhere to dress code or failure to bring appropriate footwear to class may result in the student being asked to sit out the class.
Responsibility to be Aware of Dates & Events |
It is the responsibility of parents or adult students to be aware of all school activities, the school calendar, open studio hours, etc. An Daire Academy will provide this information via email and the school website. It is the parent or adult student's responsibility to regularly maintain awareness of these communication tools. It is also the parent or adult student's responsibility to inform the school of any mailing address, telephone number or email address changes.
Care of Students & Siblings |
An Daire Academy is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents of students under the age of 5 are required to remain on the studio premises during classes. Students should not be left at the studio for excessive time before or after classes. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide appropriate and adequate child care for young siblings and non-student family members. It is also the responsibility of the parent to clean up after all children who use studio space, whether on the dance floor, the dressing area or the lobby.
Photo Release |
An Daire Academy is hereby granted permission to take photographs of students for use in perpetuity in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the school creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name.
Copyrightable Material |
All choreography, costuming, product, and instruction materials are the exclusive property of An Daire Academy. Students will not utilize or share such copyrightable materials anywhere and at such times not demonstrably associated with the school without the express written consent of An Daire Academy.
Costuming |
All costuming shall constitute a trademark of An Daire Academy. Students will not utilize or share such trademarked materials anywhere and at such times not demonstrably associated with the school without the express written consent of An Daire Academy. Should the relationship between the student and An Daire Academy be terminated for any reason whatsoever, the student agrees to cease the public use of said trademarked material: the school shall retain the right of first refusal to repurchase any used costuming from the dancer less reasonable depreciation.
